Best Laid Plans

So much for New Year’s resolutions.

I had thought one thing I might try in the new year would be to up my posting schedule here at I Just Have To Say from something roughly bi-weekly to something more like daily. As I write, I’ve got less than 24 minutes to even get a post in by the 2nd of January. Oh well, it’s hard to have something worth saying every day, especially if you’re not getting paid by a news syndicate for saying it. It’s not like I’m the quintessential blogger, sitting around in his pajamas all day with nothing better to do than flot his jetsum on an unsuspecting audience of internauts … is it?

So, who knows how often I’ll manage to post in the coming year? Dear readers, at least you know where my heart is.

For today, I’ll just say I have no idea whether whoever bought YouTube paid too much money, but it’s a great site and I am glad it exists.

After finishing my work, both employment-related and domestic tonight, there were two things I really wanted to check out: the wild and wacky end of the Fiesta Bowl contest between Boise State and the University of Oklahoma yesterday, and — how could I not — the execution of Saddam Hussein.

Somewhere, wrapped in the multiple layers of culture and consciousness that bind my interest in those two events, lies the answer to questions I have yet to find a way to ask.

But hey, tomorrow’s another day.
